Description

This report is a close look at the different decisions required to move sea level rise planning forward for city and county governments. The report outlines critical decision points in existing planning efforts such as general plans, Local Coastal Programs (LCPs) and zoning updates where community leaders could include sea level rise knowledge. The report is especially focused on helping local governments use innovative climate adaptation strategies such as the ecosystem services of habitats, buffers, transfer of development rights and managed retreat.
