Description

The North Pacific Oscillation (NPO) and the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) have systematic effects on California's temperature that are of interest to energy producers and consumers. The purpose of this study is to quantify these effects, in both observations and in global climate models. Both observations and models were evaluated so the fidelity of modeling studies of California's climate can be evaluated. This is a state-funded research study sponsored by the California Energy Commission.
