Description
This website is home of the formal rising sea level policy recommendations adopted San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC)’s Commission following a series of public workshops. The recommendations are clustered into the following eight overarching tasks: 1) Create a regional sea level rise adaptation plan, 2) Complete multi-sector, county-scale sea level rise vulnerability assessments, 3) Explore new institutional arrangements to address the impacts of climate change, 4) Identify regionally significant natural and built assets and vulnerable communities, 5) Change existing laws, policies and regulations as relevant, 6) Work with others to develop a regional educational campaign, 7) Assist efforts to define, identify, and fund one or more regional data repositories, 8) Develop a new Commissioner Working Group on innovative financing. For each task specific possible actions have been included.
