Description

This report is a preliminary assessment of a portion of the Hayward shoreline’s vulnerability to future sea-level rise and associated impacts, which include inundation, erosion, marsh collapse, and flooding. It explores these impacts as they relate to local assets, such as tidal systems, storm drain infrastructure, landfills, wastewater treatment plants, utility corridors and local trails. The report also explores different adaptation strategies including protective infrastructure, managed retreat and living shorelines.
