2017 Sonoma Complex Fires Post-Fire Vegetation Assessment and Planning for Landscape & Community Resiliency to Fire
Ag Innovations and Sonoma Water. 2019
Wildfire
Assessment
Plan or strategy
This assessment and planning interactive resource is intended to inform strategies for future vegetation management to support fuel load reduction and forest health -both locally and in California. It is a collaboration between multiple

entities, particularly the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District (Ag+ Open Space) and the Sonoma County Watershed Collaborative. It is an outgrowth of recommendations in the Watershed Collaborative's report "Living in a Fire Adapted Landscape", and supports the objectives of the "Sonoma County Recovery and Resiliency Framework".

Wildfire
Assessment
This 2014 vulnerability assessment for the Sierra Nevada region is an initial science-based effort to identify how and why focal resources (ecosystems, species populations, and ecosystem services) across the region are likely to be affected by future climate conditions.
Actions Likely to Increase Plant and Animal Resilience to Climate Change
The Nature Conservancy. 2018
Data, tools, and research
This interactive map can be used by land managers to view and visualize landscape vulnerabilities based off of a state-wide vulnerability assessment. The viewer also presents conservation actions that land managers can take to help address

Adaptability and adaptations of California's water supply system to dry climate warming
University of California, Davis. 2007
Extreme heat

Data, tools, and research
In anticipation of a dry form of climate warming, this paper explores the economical mix of adaptation, technologies, policies, and water management changes available to minimize water supply impacts. The modeling tool used in the research,

California Value Integrated Network (CALVIN), has been applied to water policy and management problems in the past. The results suggest that increased flexibility in water management activities, such as water market activity, and conjunctive uses of surface and groundwater, will play a beneficial role in protecting California’s water supply in the face of a drier and warmer climate.

Adaptation to Climate Change? Moving Coast Redwood Seedlings Northward and Inland
Humboldt State University. 2016
Drought

Assessment
In preparation for a changing climate, this research investigates what genotypes of coast redwoods perform best under drought conditions. The study measured the water stress for trees under normal and dry conditions in Humboldt and Mendocino

County. The results showed that redwoods in the central coast were more resilient to harsher conditions, which gives insight into forest management plans as we adapt to future climate conditions.

associations for a collaborative planning project on sea level rise and climate change. This report is one of several products from these planning efforts. Specifically it is a focused assessment of Alameda County’s shoreline and flood inundation vulnerability due to future sea level rise. For the project an innovative mapping approach, which allows a single map to represent multiple potential future sea level rise and storm surge scenarios, was used that can be applied to other areas. The work presented in this report can inform near-term actions to address sea level rise. It can also inform when (i.e., at what level of sea level rise), we pass a tipping point where discrete actions along the shoreline are no longer sufficient to address these growing threats.
