Description

In 2012 Laguna Beach amended its Local Coastal Program (LCP) directly through the Land Use Element of its General Plan. The plan requires regular evaluation of sea level rise impacts on shoreline change. It also requires that new protective structures include sea level rise considerations. New development must assess the potential for flooding or damage related to sea level rise and homes on bluffs are required to use setbacks.
