Description

This research paper provides one approach to systematically classify developed coastal areas based on residential development and hazard conditions. The approach is useful for guiding the application of alternative statewide sea level rise adaptation policies that are consistent with the Coastal Act. Additionally this approach can be used to connect communities with similar conditions to support better proactive planning for sea level rise resilience, and promote sharing of knowledge and experiences along the coast in the coming decades.
