Description

The Mission Creek Sea Level Rise Adaptation Study is based on an iterative design process led by SPUR. This project’s two main goals are: 1) to provide conceptual design solutions to reduce flood risks to a neighborhood, and 2) to build capacity in San Francisco to understand and manage these risks in the long term. The project included mapping the hazard and consequences of flooding from storms and sea level rise and developing adaptation alternatives to reduce risk in the Mission Creek area and Mission Bay shoreline areas. In addition to an asset based vulnerability assessment, the report includes several different design ideas for both a highly urbanized creek and a heavily developed urban shoreline.
