Description

This exploratory case study for California's 4th Climate Change Assessment focuses on the electrical grid of Los Angeles to look at how adaptation planning can prepare for cascading disruptions to electrical systems caused by climate change events. The study's three goals are to 1) Test conceptual frameworks for assessing these cascading impacts, 2) Identify research needs and resolve barriers to action around these impacts on the grid, and 3) Help other communities around the state conduct similar analyses to inform their grid management and adaptation planning.
