Description

This paper for California's 4th Climate Change Assessment looks at how those studying energy efficiency can better align with climate change goals by more systematically incorporating people into their research and viewing energy as a people-driven, socio-technical system. The authors explore ways to more deeply integrate this social component with the environmental and technological aspects of the energy efficiency field. They also illustrate how new developments such as increased data availability and denser communication networks are making the process of incorporating people into energy and climate change research and policy more feasible.
