Description

By integrating vulnerability indexes with flood exposure data, this paper studies the potential effects of levee failures on vulnerable residents in the Sacramento Delta region. The results show that socioeconomic status was the largest contributor to social vulnerability, with ethnicity and age following in importance. Understanding the factors that contribute to social vulnerability may help inform resilience policies and priorities.
