Description

The California High-Speed Rail system, designed to connect the State from Los Angeles to San Francisco by 2033, is a critical element of the State's overall adaptation strategy. The California High-Speed Rail Authority Climate Adaptation Plan identifies the path forward for climate change adaptation efforts in the development of this high-speed rail system. Elements of the Plan include coordination with asset managers to collect weather and climate-related impacts to the system and integrate climate data into asset maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement schedules, and developing design, operations and maintenance, and programmatic responses to future climate conditions and extreme weather events.
