Description

This storymap is intended to tell the story of the 2017 Sonoma Complex fires in order to inform strategies for future vegetation management to support fuel load reduction and forest health, both locally and in California. It is a collaboration between multiple entities, particularly the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation & Open Space District (Ag+ Open Space) and the Sonoma County Watershed Collaborative. It is an outgrowth of recommendations in the Watershed Collaborative's report "Living in a Fire Adapted Landscape", and supports the objectives of the "Sonoma County Recovery and Resiliency Framework".
