This report gives a detailed snapshot of the current status of municipal-level climate preparedness planning within and near Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) service territory. This report frames and defines several types of local climate preparedness plans and gives examples of best practices. It further identifies three central issues in local climate preparedness throughout the state and provides clear recommendations for improvement in those areas. The report is complemented by a searchable Matrix on Climate Resolve’s website that details the status of climate preparedness planning by more than 200 municipalities. This research also identifies third-party funding sources to support municipal climate planning.
