Description

The head of tide (HoT) zone is the location within a tributaries where there is a transition between fluvial and tidal processes and conditions. This location is where many of the cities in the San Francisco Bay are built. To manage these sites effectively there needs to be a process, or protocol, for determining where the HoT zone is now and where it will likely be in the future. This study focused on creating the framework for a rapid protocol that can be used to delineate the current and future HoT zone for San Francisco Bay tributaries.
