This document provides scientific guidance to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) regarding the potential impacts of climate change on California fisheries and recommendations for building resilience to buffer climatic forces. The document provides an overview of California oceanography and climate variability, presents several variability scenarios, case studies, and potential management approaches to respond to the physical changes associated with climate change (warming, ocean acidification, hypoxia, changes in circulation patterns, etc.).
