Description

This report provides a model cost benefit analysis that compares two different adaption strategies – engineered solutions such as coastal armoring and nature based solutions such as wetland restoration. Using Ventura County as an example, the report finds that both alternative will yield more benefits than costs in terms of mitigating the sea level rise damages. Additionally, depending on the value assigned to ecosystem services, the natural solution produces greater net benefits than the engineered solution.
