Description
In response to sea level rise, associated changes to the coastal landscape, as well as evolving science and state policy, California State Parks developed this Sea Level Rise Adaptation Strategy to provide a framework to address the impacts of sea level rise in coastal state park units. The Strategy seeks to efficiently integrate sea level rise into existing operational processes and to better equip State Parks staff to preserve resources and access within coastal park units. The Strategy emphasizes the need to ensure future sea level rise adaptation planning integrates State Parks’ multiple resource types and roles in a holistic manner to meet different aspects of its mission. 13 support tools are recommended to guide staff in integrating sea level rise into projects and plans.
