This document provides advisory guidance for addressing sea level rise in local coastal programs, coastal development permits and other planning and regulatory items that come before the California Coastal Commission. This Guidance is a comprehensive, multi-purpose resource and it is intended to be useful for many audiences across the state. It also includes both general and specific guidance on adaptation strategies for addressing sea level rise. It was updated with latest best available science in November 2018.
